JXG Guitars (John X Gill) Custom Build (2008) - 70s Zemaitis meets 50s Les Paul for sale.

Owned from new and commissioned by me in 2008 from UK luthier craftsman John X Gill at his (then) Newcastle workshop. UK Custom Shop level/ one off luthier grade guitar.

Spec is basically 50s Les Paul but with certain 70s Zemaitis influenced cosmetics so old growth dry Honduras mahogany, maple 2 piece top - striped but not too OTT, Braz rosewood board etc.

Pickups are boutique Amalfitano USA hot PAFs. A little bit more punchy than stock PAFs but not over compressed garbage like some. These still have great articulation and clarity even with gain full on or backed off.
Wiring all braid wire, 50s wiring, pio caps and switchcraft jack and switch.
1/4" jack mounted on guitar top ala 335 - I have a custom double right angled cable that comes with the guitar so there are no obstruction when playing.

Bone nut, Gibson ABR with KTS Ti saddles fitted, Grover 18:1 tuners.
Bone fretboard/headstock inlays.
Handmade rosewood pickup rings.
6100 gauge frets.
Standard 50s Gibson LP scale length and radius.
Large 50s neck carve.

Bigsby B7 fitted from new so never been a stoptail guitar.
Nice touches such as wooden lacquered back panels (switch and control cavity) plus wooden pickup toggle switch.

Guitar as of today in great almost unused condition. A few little marks here and there but extremely clean, a 9 out of 10 I'd say.

Comes with Hiscox case, custom guitar lead as mentioned.
