'Freddie Mercury: Solo' is the name of two boxed sets released on 23 February 2000, which chronicle Freddie's solo work.
The first is a 3CD set which contains the 'Mr Bad Guy' and 'Barcelona' albums, plus a third disc containing six tracks from other sessions, and one remix. The set comes in a thin double CD case in an outer slipcase, with a booklet and separate sleeve for the bonus disc. The set charted at #13 in the UK charts.
The second set contains 10CD's and 2DVD's, housed in a 30cm x 40.5cm coffee-table sized 119 page book, which features a biography, photographs, discography, lyrics and track details. The discs are housed in the inner sleeves of the book, and feature every track which Freddie recorded as a solo artist, including studio out-takes, unreleased demos, early versions, instrumentals, and tracks which appeared on his numerous singles. The set comes in an outer solid card sleeve, with a colour wraparound along the spine. The entire set is then housed in a plain cardboard box, which has a barcode and catalogue number. There are two versions of the set available, containing PAL or NTSC versions of the DVD's.
