Fender Stratocaster ST-62 Reissue.

Description

Made in Japan Fender Stratocaster ST-62 Reissue.
Fender online seriel no. checker confirms this to be from 1995/96. This is a Fujigen guitar, from the last production run of these Made in Japan Fender Strat's from the original factory.

Originally a 3-colour Sunburst, poorly relic'd. Thought to be an Alder body, it was refinished (body prep'd, sanding sealer, primer coats) in Dakota Red nitro. A few small blemishes, commensurate with age which only add to its character.

Comfortable, played-in neck, with slim C-shaped profile & vintage 7.25 inch radius.
Freshly set up with a fast playing, low action and the trem set low to the body. Tremelo arm not fitted, but comes suppiled.

The laquer on the rear of the Maple neck has been worn over time & has been finished with 1000 grit. No problems with neck stability & a tidy neck pocket union can be seen. Fully adjustable, working truss rod, with no issues.

Features a lovely black Rosewood board, with original vintage frets in excellent condition. Recently strung with Hybrid Slinky 9's.

The original Ceramic p'ups have been replaced with a set of Alex Pribora 67 Specials. These are Alnico V magnets; Neck 5.92k, Middle 5.72k, Bridge 6.00k. There are several good reviews online & I find them very musical & well balanced.

Oak Grigsby 5-way switch enables the usual standard settings, with the Push/Push Tone pot providing the so-called David Gilmour settings. Various permutations of neck, middle & bridge p'ups in parallel are possible as a result. Comes in like a volume boost when engaged.

Replacement wiring loom features 2no. Bourne 250K Volume & Tone Pots, 1no. 250k Push/Push Tone Pot with 0.022uF high quality Pept Capacitor.

I've sent out several guitars using ParcelForce with no issues.....£15.00 on top & will be well packed....or pick up from home.

This is a really great example of an affordable vintage guitar, with loads of mojo, that really does sound as good as it looks. I know I'll miss it but other business forces this sale.
