Description

Hiya, I am trying to fundraiser for this wheechair.

Meet me - Ayden
I am 21 years old and lives in Surrey, a full time wheelchair user for 5 years - but I dont let that stop me. I Love playing sportd and anything with animal related and I love nothing more than heading off on adventures with my friends and family.

What am I fundraising for?
I am fundraising for an Omeo wheelchair because it is the only mobility solution that will truly meet my needs and allow me to remain independent long-term.

Why do I need a new chair?
I live with severe Raynaud’s disease, Lupus, and hypermobility, and nerve pain + spazams from paralysis, all of which significantly impact my strength, circulation, and joint stability. Using a manual wheelchair or joystick/throttle electric is no longer sustainable for me, with one of my biggest issue is my Raynaud's diease which has hospital 3 times within a year almost losing my fingers, this happens as my wheelchair requires repetitive pushing that causes pain, joint strain, and fatigue, and with the cold pushrims this also worsening circulation issues linked to Raynaud’s.I also have been hospitalised more times than I can count for my lupus as it affects all my vital organs, making me weak due to harsh chemotherapy drugs.
Similarly, joystick-controlled powered wheelchairs are becoming increasingly difficult to use, as my hand strength, and having my arm extended out causes them to get cold quickly. This means I cannot safely or consistently control a standard powered chair. With the paralysis I get lots of spazams and nerve pain from being unable to move or adjust my position.
What im fundraising for? ...What is an Omeo?
An Omeo Wheelchair is a self-balancing powered wheelchair that you mainly control using your body movement instead of your hands.
One of the biggest advantages is that it can be completely hands-free, which is what I need- all I I would do is  leaning my body (forward, back, left, right) Then the chair responds using balance technology and sensors.

I know I am asking alot but thought it would be worth a shot, any donations big or small helps me fund this.

You can see some photos of me testing the chair at the end of the photos!
