Description
Green De Kuypers vintage gin bottle that was collected from my parents' house when it had to be cleared. I cannot recall whether this was on display in a cabinet or if it was kept in a shed. From research it appears to date back to the 1920s or 1930s.
On one side of the bottle "De Kuyper's Squareface" is embossed on it. On the next side "Who De Kuyper Nightly Takes Soundly Sleeps and Fitly Awakes" is embossed.
The bottle is 23 cm tall, 4.5 cm wide at the base and 6.5 cm wide at the greatest part just below the neck. The top of the bottle is 2.4 cm in diameter.
There is some damage to the bottle which should be evident in the photographs. Part of the base appears to have broken off and was glued back together. At the base of neck of the bottle there are some silver coloured marks.
