HIRING - Light Vehicle Mechanic

We looking for a reliable, capable Light Vehicle Service Technician / Mechanic to carry out everyday vehicle maintenance, routine servicing, and bolt-on component replacements.

This role focuses strictly on fast-turnaround wear-and-tear repairs. There is no heavy engine stripping, cylinder head work, timing chains, or gearbox overhaul work involved.

Key Responsibilities

Routine Servicing: Carrying out interim and major services (engine oil flushes, oil/air/cabin/fuel filter changes, spark plugs, and fluid checks). 
Braking Systems: Inspecting and replacing brake pads, discs, drums, calipers, handbrake cables, and conducting brake fluid changes. 

Suspension & Steering: Replacing shock absorbers, coil springs, anti-roll bar drop links, track rod ends, and lower wishbones/ball joints.
Light Mechanical & Bolt-On Parts: Fitting exhaust systems/hangers, replacement batteries, alternators, starter motors, auxiliary drive belts, and minor cooling components (thermostats, hoses).

Pre-MOT Inspections: Checking lights, wipers, horn, basic suspension play, fluid leaks, and overall chassis safety prior to test slots.

Workshop Housekeeping: Keeping vehicle ramps and work bays clean, organized, and properly handling all oils and workshop waste.
What We Are Looking For

Experience: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on garage or autocentre experience carrying out routine vehicle maintenance and light repairs. 

Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence to move customer vehicles safely on and off ramps and around the estate.
Reliability: Honest, dependable timekeeper able to complete servicing schedules to a high standard without constant supervision.
