Vintage Mahjong Set in Brown Case – Fair Condition

Impressive vintage Mahjong set in a brown carrying case. The case shows some wear and tear, especially on the corners, but it's still functional. Great for collectors or anyone looking to enjoy this classic game. As seen in photos. There is some damage to the brown vinyl case which is partly torn on two inside edges. I am not sure of the age or identity of the manufacturer but I have seen adverts for similar sets refer to them as dating from the 1960s and to the tiles being made from resin. The tiles are chunky, deeply engraved with symbols and are very satisfying and tactile to handle. Consists of 144 tiles in 4 trays of 36 tiles, 2 extra blank tiles, 3 small numbered 6-sided dice, 1 'wind' die and tong-box (for displaying the 'wind of the round') and plastic counters which might be used for scoring (8 red, 12 yellow and 15 green). The tiles consist of 3 suits of bamboos, circles and characters (4 tiles each of numbers 1 to 9 of each suit), 4 tiles for each of the 4 winds, 4 tiles for each of 3 dragons, 4 season tiles and 4 flower tiles. Each tile weighs 17 grams and measures 30 mm by 22 mm by 15 mm. The case measures 320 mm by 215 mm by 40 mm and the set weighs 3 kg total. No rules are included, but it is not difficult to find information on the internet. No tile racks are included in the set. Collection for cash please.
