2011 Ford KA — Cheap and Slightly Ugly

Let’s get the important bit out of the way first: is it pretty? Absolutely not.

This is a 15-year-old Ford KA with dings and dents across the bodywork. None of them are from me — it had rough bodywork when I bought it in June 2024, and it’s leaving me in exactly the same condition.

I’m not going to pretend it’s something it isn’t. It’s an ugly little car, but it’s been a solid little car.

I’ve used it for the last two years as a runaround for football, hobbies and general getting from A to B. It has done South to North Wales and back without missing a beat and, mechanically, it has caused me no issues during my ownership.

It had new rear brakes and handbrake cable at the last MOT. There were also some advisories, which I was advised were fine to continue running with. Those advisories have not been done, so please look at the MOT history yourself, make your own judgement and decide whether you're happy with what is listed. If you don't like the look of it, then this probably isn't the car for you.

It hasn't been valeted. It hasn't been professionally detailed. It hasn't been lovingly polished for 14 hours in an attempt to make you forget it's a 15-year-old Ford KA. What you see is what you get.

It would make an ideal cheap workhorse, runaround or possibly a first car. In fact, it could be the perfect first car for someone who wants to learn the joys of driving without having a heart attack every time they get within six feet of a bollard, lamppost or other piece of street furniture.

It's cheap to run, has been reliable for me and I'm confident it can continue doing the same for someone else. That said, I am not a motor trader, mechanic or car expert. You're buying a 15-year-old car, not a new one with any sort of warranty - sold as seen I believe they call it.

You're welcome to inspect it, test drive it and do whatever checks you feel are appropriate.
For test drives, I will need the cash before you take it out. By taking the car for a test drive, you confirm that you are properly insured to do so and accept responsibility for the car while driving it. If you crash it, you buy it. If you bring it back safely and decide it's not for you, you'll get your money back.

I'm only selling because I've bought a new family car for my partner and will be using our previous family car instead, as it's bigger and therefore considerably better at swallowing my football kit bag and associated other bits I carry.

I'm not trying to hide anything about this car. It's cheap, it's ugly, it's 15 years old and it's got dents. But it's been a dependable little runaround for me for the last two years, and I'd rather see someone else get some use out of it than scrap it.

If it doesn't sell, I'll simply keep running it around until it finally gives up the ghost.

I've tried to be as honest as possible in this advert. If you want a perfect-looking car, this isn't it. If you want a cheap little car that has served me well and could potentially do the same for you, it might be worth a look.
