Advertising on behalf of a customer this very very original Mk1 2 Door Escort, fitted with a 1600 crossflow. This car has never been welded and is as good an original 50 odd year old shell as you are ever likely to find. We have the V5 here showing 2 Uk owners. The car was imported from South Africa in 2023 and has been upgraded and used for the last couple of summers.

Body - 1970 Export spec shell with similar strengthening to our sporty models. Doesnt have trampbar brackets or studs through the boot floor but has everything else. Its never been welded and retains its original floors, sills, inner wings, arches, pillars and so on. The shell is olid with no underseal or anything. It will maybe need a wirebrush and some sort of protective coating but for now its been left as it is to show how good it is. The last owner had the exterior painted in its original colour as the paint had faded. We have pre paint pics available if anyone wants them. Paintwork is nice and tidy. Car is very straight. The doors sit lovely in the apertures. When looking for an original Henry Ford Mk1 shell, this is about as good as you get. 1100 badges still fitted. Underbonnet and in the boot were not painted and left original, apart from the strut top plates which had been sanded back to check the vin no prior to export

Mechanics - 1600 crossflow running a weber carb and has a four branch manifold fitted. Capri front struts with 175lb front springs. Calipers and front pads have been replaced, as have the rear shoes and cylinders. track Rod ends also renewed. The car is lowered froint and rear. 4 speed box, 1 piece prop. Car starts, runs and drives well. The indicator stalk feels like its on its last legs but we will see if we can locate one...otherwise all good.

Interior - Seats have been upgraded to the ones fitted which we believe are the same as ones found in Mexicos and Twin Cams. 2 dial dash, good dash top, still has its original rubber floor mat fitted. Aftermarket steering wheel fitted

Wheels - 6 inch JBW steels with good tyres all round.

This car is super original. Folk will think its expensive but try building on these days. Brand new Mk1 shells are about the same price as this then you have everything else to find. Im not knocking the new shells, the guys that build them do a wonderful job but this one is all Henry Ford. You are welcome to come and see the car.
