1966 Ford Corsair V4 Auto PETROL Automatic

1966 Corsair 1.7 V4 Auto. Car starts runs and drives but will need work. We have the current V5 showing only 4 previous owners, the original service book for the car, some receipts and old MOTs dating back to 1971. It looks like a car that has had a few period repairs and been tucked away for a long time.

Body - 4 Door Corsair. The car was originally a dark Maroon colour from new, still seen under the bonnet. Its been repainted at some point in its life a brighter metallic red. It has had repairs in the boot floor, front floors, inner sill areas, strut tops have been plated. Most of the repairs were to MOT standard rather than restoration standard. Paintwork is also showing its age. There is bubbling on bottoms of 3 of the doors, . Rear arches are OK. Chromework is pretty good and all intact.

Mechanics - V4 engine which starts and runs. It was a bit misfirey, if thats even a word, but we put a set of plugs in it and its much better. it runs and drives and the auto box changes gears ok. The selector on the column shift needs adjusting somehow as it doesnt line up properly with the gear you are in. Brakes feel ok. Fuel time has been temporarily replaced with one from a Cortina mk1. The filler neck doesnt line up so this will need addressing. Car will need a good checkover from front to back before being used in anger

Interior - Seats and door cards are actually in very good order, as is the headlining, dashtop and carpet. Seats look in keeping with the 55000 miles on the clock.

Wheels- Set of 4 Rostyles with good 165/70/13 tyres.

Bit of a project this one which could be put on the road fairly cheaply, but really the old girl deserves a bit love and restored to its former glory. You are welcome to come and see the car. We have a ramp so you can look underneath. Delivery can be arranged if required. Please ask for a quote
