Description
Join in for 2 hours in the beautiful outdoors, that is meant to help you reconnect with yourself, others and nature!
Welcome to Healing through Connections Events, run by Connected Exclusive Events. These will be run once a month and will usually involve a social mixer with discussion(at the end or beginning of the event) and be followed or preceded by a differently themed workshop that is geared towards exploring healing trauma in very practical, creative ways, as well as learning skills/hacks to thrive after healing from it. This has been set up to offer those that are struggling to deal with the effects of trauma and are open to trying new ways to heal and grow and find others (like them) to discuss their journey with. Why? Because trauma is best healed in community, while connecting with others.
✅Are you currently recovering or have recovered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder?
✅Are you currently in therapy to address your PTSD? Or are you about to finish or have just finished therapy but looking for ongoing support?
These monthly events are for anyone who has been living with PTSD and has either had therapy or is currently in therapy to address their PTSD. These monthly 2 hours group sessions offer practical group peer support as well as skills learnt for those who want to thrive from the PTSD. The focus isn't just about how to get your life back on track and get the support and skills needed, but also how to become trauma-proof and create a more authentic and robust sense of sense, to be better able to deal with any future setbacks in life, moving forward.
These sessions will therefore focus on Post Traumatic Growth (PTG).
⭐️WHAT IS POST TRAUMATIC GROWTH(PTG)?
PTG is the positive psychological transformation experienced after struggling with highly challenging life circumstances/trauma. Rather than just returning to baseline, individuals experience profound, meaningful shifts in perspective, including deeper relationships, increased personal strength, greater appreciation for life, and new possibilities.
The Process of PTG
PTG acts as a catalyst for change, where the struggle with trauma forces individuals to rebuild their core beliefs. It is considered a "shattered assumptions" model, where the destruction of a person's worldview necessitates building a stronger, more resilient one. This process often involves:
💥Processing the Trauma: Actively working through the trauma (e.g. through talking or somatically working through the trauma). This will usually be done with a therapist and with any extra resources like journaling and other modalities. Please be aware that these monthly sessions are not geared for processing trauma or talking about it.
💥Reframing Perspectives: Finding meaning in the struggle.
💥Resilience Building: Using the experience to foster new capabilities.
While many experience PTG, it is important to note that it is not universal and often requires significant time and effort. For this reason, the monthly sessions are set up for regular attendance: attendees are welcome to drop in for one or two group sessions, but to get the most out of attending, it is recommended to attend regularly and on an ongoing basis .
✨ BENEFITS OF ATTENDING:
This monthly event caters for anyone with any type of PTSD that is recovering or has recovered from PTSD.
🔥The sessions are about sharing with others any challenges and joys, that come with living/having lived with and starting to thrive from PTSD. Knowing that you are not alone and that others are endeavouring to cope too and how they are coping , can be an extremely bonding experience.
🔥Attendees will gain new insights, inspiration, tools, skills and feel connected not just with themselves, but with nature but other attendees too.
🔥Each monthly sessions ends with Ritual Ceremony of release to let go of the old and make space for the new.
The ethos of this group is that all attendees need to assume responsibility for their own experience within the group setting. This group is not being run by a trauma therapist, but a Mastery Facilitator and someone who had PTSD themselves for many years and is now thriving and helping others to reshape their lives. While boundaries and common group run guidelines will be followed to run the group safely, this group is not for anyone who is suffering from undiagnosed PTSD, or diagnosed PTSD that is not being treated or anyone with severe mental health problems, diagnosed or undiagnosed. The group is being run for anyone who has had therapy with a qualified mental health specialist to address their PTSD or is about to complete their PTSD therapy. The group is not a substitute for professional psychological help, but rather to be used in conjunction with therapy. If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch and discuss further.
👍This event is being held in wonderful nature spot in the Wallington area in South London.
