ON THE HOOF FOR WEYMOUTH AND PORTLAND YOUTH

Description

Retired Weymouth teacher Andy Dukes is aiming to support the Hope House 'Summer of Fun' events providing a range of activities for up to 70 young people across our town. These include community projects, watersports, social occasions and five days camping at the 'Satellites Youth Festival'.
He also wants to support the vision of a major youth event given to a young member of St Aldhelm's Church fellowship called Archie.
Furthermore, he hopes to set up an enjoyable day as an opportunity to engage with people and families from across our Weymouth and Portland community.
As such, Andy is staging an event called 'On the Hoof for Weymouth and Portland Youth' with participants covering various distances of 5, 10 or 21 miles that might include walking, cycling, running, pushing baby buggies scootering, mobility scooters, wheelchairs, etc.
Beyond this, Marcus Biles, Andy's excellent personal trainer from First Class Fitness Gym, will offer a duathlon of 21 miles cycle and 5 miles run for any who feel fit enough to take the challenge.
There will be treasure hunts for families and a party with food, drink, live music, games and activities in St Aldhelm's Church Lounge at the finish.
This all happens on Saturday 13th June starting between 09:00 and 10:00 at St Aldhelm's Church in Spa Road.
The entry cost is £5, with under age 11s free.
Andy hopes that lots of people will take part, and asks anyone interested to contact him
He also asks people to please give and raise sponsorship on 'Go Fund Me'
Finally, Andy is asking for volunteers to help with marshalling, etc. In particular, if a qualified first aider is able to support the event. Again, contact Andy
