Ghost Hunt The Historic Coffee House Wavertree 19 September 2026

Step into the shadows of Liverpool’s oldest surviving pub and hunt restless spirits that still linger in its 18th century walls.
DeadLive invites you to an intimate, professional paranormal investigation at The Historic Coffee House in Wavertree, a cherished local landmark with more than 250 years of documented history, whispered hauntings, and eerie echoes from the past.
From the spectral licensee Elizabeth Heys, who ran the inn in 1777, to ghostly revellers from forgotten summer Assemblies and the phantom clatter of long gone horse trams outside, the pub’s ancient rooms pulse with unseen energy. Join us to explore the chilling tales that have haunted this beloved Wavertree icon since the days of Ale House Recognizances and Robert Cain’s brewery empire.

Explore the Hauntings of The Historic Coffee House
First licensed in 1777 under Elizabeth Heys, The Coffee House quickly became Wavertree’s social heart, hosting lively Assemblies, political meetings, and horse bus travellers. By the 19th century, its opulent interiors designed by renowned architect Walter Thomas welcomed day trippers overlooking open fields that later became the White Star Line sports ground. Though the cobbled forecourt has shrunk and the old Crown Brewery arch is bricked up, the building’s ancient sandstone foundations and lingering spirits remain untouched by time.
Early booking is essential, strictly limited to 15 tickets per event. General admission £25.
