Coulgate Street Market isn’t a huge but a petite marche of 10/12 traders. Ethos is to include local artisans and local schools and charities. It’s not a permanent market hall — it feels more like a community / pop-up / craft-and-local-goods market. Some of its hallmarks:
• It’s organised periodically rather than operating 7 days a week. Recent listings show market events on dates like Nov 15, Nov 22, Nov 29, Dec 6, Dec 20.
• It aims to bring together “local schools, charities, makers” — so there’s a community vibe, rather than a massive commercial enterprise.
• Sometimes it coincides with special events (like Christmas markets), or culturally themed happenings featuring food, music, arts, and a mix of stalls.
It’s small — friendly, cosy, neighbourhood-centric.
• Great for people who appreciate handmade items, sustainable/vintage goods, or want to support local creatives and community causes.
• Also nice if you like a relaxed, social shopping environment no food is traded there. But it is nestled in between so great bustling cafes and on the front of brockley station path, allowing a 5k to 10k footfall
• Good for gift-shopping, weekend browsing, or just an easy stroll if you’re nearby Brockley. Looking handmade , antiques, pet food, body care, sustainable interior fabrics and many many more. More markets in the new year twice a week
