If you are tired of giving up your weekends to heavy engineering shifts and want your Mondays back completely, then this roster is about to change your life.

The Role and About You

Imagine a mechanical fitting role where your weekend starts the moment you clock off, and you do not have to think about returning to work until Tuesday morning.

You will step into a highly optimised shift pattern that completely protects your personal time. Working strictly between Tuesday and Friday, you will completely bypass Monday morning blues. With a rotation of 4 day-shifts (Tuesday to Friday) followed by a 3-day weekend, and 3 night-shifts (Tuesday to Thursday) followed by a 4-day weekend, your time away from work is fully maximised.

Your day-to-day work will focus on the maintenance, inspection, and fault-finding of freight wagons. You will utilise your heavy mechanical skills to handle component replacements, brake testing, and structural repairs. If you come from a background in heavy plant, rolling stock, agricultural machinery, or heavy vehicle mechanics, your technical expertise will be highly valued here.

The role also is a natural stepping stone into a Locomotive Fitter position as you progress through your career here which comes with a further salary increase.
