Location: Liss, West Sussex

Salary: 16.00- 21.00 per hour, depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Bennett and Game Recruitment are a well-established and highly specialised automotive engineering business based in West Sussex, with a strong reputation within the luxury vehicle sector.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Tool Maker to join their production engineering team. This is a hands-on position focused on manufacturing specialist components and assemblies using traditional toolroom and manual machining techniques.

Tool Maker - Position Overview

Manufacture components and assemblies to engineering drawings and specifications.Use manual milling, turning, surface grinding and bench fitting techniques.Inspect components, approve first-offs and maintain quality throughout production runs.Work with the production team to prioritise manufacturing requirements and schedules.Support the workshop with modification of components and assemblies.Strip, assess and rebuild vehicle sub-assemblies where required.Operate additional production machinery following appropriate training.Carry out general workshop duties including material preparation, cutting, deburring and hand finishing.Complete relevant production and inspection records.Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.

Tool Maker - Position Requirements

Time-served apprenticeship in Toolmaking, Machining or a similar engineering discipline.Strong experience within a traditional toolroom environment.Competent with manual milling, turning and surface grinding.Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.Good organisational and prioritisation skills.Able to work independently and take ownership of tasks.Proactive, practical and hands-on approach to problem solving.Minimum 2-3 years' relevant experience in a similar role.Experience with gearboxes and differentials would be advantageous.
