TOOLMAKER

The Role

As a Toolmaker, you will be responsible for the design, manufacture, maintenance and repair of tooling, gauges and fixtures, working to customer requirements, engineering drawings and tight tolerances. You will provide technical support to Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations, while working as part of a skilled Toolroom team.

Operate and programme CNC milling machines, lathes and surface grindersUndertake CAD/CAM and manual design workManufacture and repair tooling, gauges and fixturesCarry out bench fitting and die repairsWork with spark erosion and wire erosionInspect components and work to tight tolerancesRead and interpret engineering drawings and specificationsTroubleshoot engineering and manufacturing issuesSupport improvements to manufacturing methods and processesWork closely with Engineering and Production teamsMaintain accurate documentation and KPI informationWork safely and maintain high standards of quality and housekeepingDesirable Experience

Apprentice trained or equivalent practical experienceExperienced in CNC setting, operating and programmingCompetent in reading engineering drawingsExperienced with CAD/CAMComfortable working to tight tolerancesAble to work independently with minimal supervisionA strong problem solver with a structured approachFlexible and willing to multi-taskAble to work effectively as part of a teamInterested?
