Description
Our client, a leading civil engineering firm specialising in the water sector, is currently seeking a Senior Setting Out Engineer to join their thriving team. In this permanent role, you will be responsible for managing the engineering and quality aspects across multiple sites, primarily within the civil engineering and water industry sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Establishing the level and survey control for contracts, ensuring detailed works are set out as per contract drawingsSupervising trainees and site engineers, ensuring they complete daily setting out activities with confidenceEnsuring health and safety records and work environment are compliant with organisational and legal requirementsDelivering projects safely, without environmental incidents, and ensuring specified quality standards are metCollaborating with the Site Agent/Sub Agent to develop efficient work methods and techniquesManaging procurement by undertaking pre-start material take-offs and populating material procurement schedulesConducting quality audits and compiling quality management plansMaintaining positive working relationships across all levels of the project team and stakeholders
Job Requirements:
Experience in setting out civil engineering projects, including reinforced concrete worksExperience within the water industry would be an advantageDegree/HNC or equivalent in civil engineeringProficiency in using AutoCADAbility to manage and deliver successful projects with minimal guidanceStrong report-writing and record-keeping skillsExcellent communication abilities, capable of engaging with client representatives, site team, and operativesCSCS Card and SMSTS certification
