Location: Bristol – Hybrid Working

Salary: 45,000 – 55,000, potentially up to 60,000 DOE

Senior Structural Engineer required to join an established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy within their growing Bristol office.

The successful Senior Structural Engineer will join an experienced Structural Engineering team delivering projects across a wide variety of sectors including healthcare, education, residential, high–rise, industrial, commercial, sustainability, retail, heritage and marine.

This is a client–facing role offering responsibility for the delivery of structural engineering projects from concept through to completion. The successful candidate will work closely with the Associate Structural Engineer, taking ownership of projects, coordinating engineers and technicians and helping to maintain high technical and commercial standards across the team.

The role would suit a technically strong Structural Engineer who is comfortable running projects independently and who wants greater responsibility for project delivery, client liaison, resource management and mentoring.

Senior Structural Engineer Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related disciplineStrong UK Structural Engineering consultancy experienceProven experience delivering building structures projectsAbility to develop structural schemes from initial architectural briefsStrong structural analysis and design capabilityExperience running projects and coordinating project teamsGood understanding of structural calculations, drawings and specificationsExperience working with a range of structural materials, ideally including: Reinforced concreteStructural steelMasonryTimberProficient with AutoCADStrong understanding of multidisciplinary design coordinationExperience attending client, design team and site meetingsGood commercial awarenessStrong client–facing and communication skillsExperience mentoring or supporting junior engineers advantageousChartered Engineer status advantageous but not essentialCandidates working towards professional qualification will also be consideredDecisive with strong critical thinking and problem–solving skills

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer who wants to take on greater responsibility within an established consultancy while remaining heavily involved in technical project delivery.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Associate Structural Engineer and act as a senior member of the Bristol team, with responsibility for running projects, coordinating technical delivery and supporting junior staff.
