Description

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client, a leading consultancy in the power utilities sector, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Birmingham, UK. This is a permanent position within the power distribution and T&D (Transmission and Distribution) industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide commercial leadership at framework and project levels, focusing on cost-value reconciliationDevelop and apply subcontracts using NEC3 or NEC4 (Option A & C) forms within the power sectorCoordinate effectively with wider project teams on cost and risk managementConduct monthly internal and client reporting in accordance with established proceduresOptimize cash flow through activity schedules, monthly valuations, and control of subcontractor accountsDrive recovery of outstanding monies and ensure timely resolution of queriesIdentify and manage commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering, and change eventsPrepare and manage sub-contracts throughout the project lifecycle, including Final Account agreements

Job Requirements:

Experience within the power transmission and distribution sectorIn-depth experience with NEC3 and NEC4 forms of contract (Options A & C)Proficient in cost estimation, subcontract enquiries, and compensation eventsStrong commercial and contractual acumenExcellent computer literacy, particularly with MS Office suiteBachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related subjectChartership or working towards chartership through RICS or a similar accredited institutionAbility to manage multiple projects and conflicting deadlines
