Description

Our client, a leading firm in the highways sector, is currently seeking a Senior Planning Enforcement Officer to join their team on a contract basis. This role is crucial for the effective delivery of the planning enforcement function across the county. You will manage your own caseload and support other officers in processing and considering planning enforcement cases and appeals.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Principal Planning Enforcement Officer in delivering a planning enforcement service that meets statutory requirements and the operating principles of the responsible authority.Be a key member of the Development Management team, providing specialist advice on planning enforcement and development management to other council teams and service areas.Provide direct line management support to Senior Planning Enforcement Officers, Planning Enforcement Officers, and Technical Support Officers, including performance assessment against agreed targets.Develop sustainable working relationships with customers and stakeholders to improve communication and transform service delivery.

Job Requirements:

Significant experience in planning enforcement within the highways sector.Strong understanding of statutory requirements and operating principles related to planning enforcement.Ability to manage a caseload effectively while supporting a team.Excellent communication skills for developing relationships with stakeholders.Capability to provide specialist advice on planning enforcement and development management.Experience in line management and performance assessment.
