Are you a Chartered (or on route to) Civil or Structural Engineer looking for a genuine leadership role within a growing maritime consultancy? We are recruiting a Senior Maritime Engineer to join a thriving practice based in London, working closely with the Director to help shape and grow the business at an exciting stage of expansion.

This Senior Maritime Engineer role offers real influence over the direction of the company, not just delivery of projects. You will lead complex maritime and infrastructure engineering projects from concept through to construction, act as Technical Lead across multiple schemes, and play a key part in growing the team and the business alongside senior leadership.

While a background specifically in maritime engineering is beneficial, we are just as interested in speaking with engineers from a heavy civils, infrastructure or bridge engineering background who have a genuine passion for moving into maritime and can demonstrate strong, transferable technical experience. Direct maritime exposure is not essential if you can show the right technical foundation and appetite to learn.

The Role

As Senior Maritime Engineer you will lead the delivery of complex maritime and infrastructure engineering projects, develop and strengthen client relationships, mentor and support engineers working towards Chartership, and contribute directly to the strategic growth of the business. You will work closely with clients, project managers, design engineers and group company partners, leading multidisciplinary teams and helping to expand the company's presence across the maritime and infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Lead delivery of complex maritime and infrastructure engineering projects from concept through constructionAct as Technical Lead, providing specialist engineering expertise across all project stagesDevelop and maintain strong client relationships while identifying new business opportunitiesPrepare and review technical proposals, fee estimates and tender submissionsLead multidisciplinary design teams and manage engineering interfaces across projectsProvide technical oversight, review and approval of designs, calculations and reportsMentor and support engineers and graduates, including those working towards ChartershipHelp shape technical standards, quality procedures and best practiceWork closely with Directors on business planning, resource management and strategic growthSupport recruitment and help grow the engineering teamRepresent the business at client meetings, industry events and professional networksWhat We're Looking For

Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with ICE or IStructEDegree or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering8+ years' experience in civil or structural engineering consultancyBackground in heavy civils, infrastructure, bridge or maritime engineering design, we welcome applications from strong civil/structural generalists with a genuine interest in moving into maritimeProven track record leading complex engineering projects and managing client relationshipsExperience leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior engineersStrong commercial awareness, including fee proposals and project budget managementExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWhat's On Offer
