Job Title: Section Engineer – Major Highway & Earthworks

Location: Gloucester

Rate: 460– 470 per day (Inside IR35)

Contract: 12–18 months (initial)

Start: Immediate / next few weeks

Overview:

A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking an experienced Section Engineer with strong highway and earthworks experience to join a major infrastructure project in Gloucester. This role offers the opportunity to work on a high–profile project with responsibility for managing subcontractors and coordinating with multiple engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee day–to–day site operations across major highway and earthworks sections.

Manage subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to quality standards.

Collaborate with multiple engineers and project teams to resolve technical issues.

Use 3D modelling software to review and plan works, supporting design and construction processes.

Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Prepare reports and updates for senior management.

Essential Experience & Skills:

Proven experience on major highway and earthworks projects.

Strong 3D modelling experience (Civil 3D, Autodesk, or equivalent).

Tier 1 contractor experience.

Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple engineering teams.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Desirable:

Experience with BIM processes on large–scale infrastructure projects.

Knowledge of local highways standards and environmental compliance.
