Quantity Surveyor

Description

We are recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier 1 main contractor delivering major new-build commercial construction projects.

Candidates must be located with in 1 hour of Lincoln to be considered for this position.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established company working on high-quality projects across the region. The successful candidate will take commercial responsibility for projects and packages from procurement through construction and final account.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial management of new-build construction projects and subcontract packages Procurement, negotiation and appointment of subcontractors Preparation and management of subcontract documentation Measurement, valuations and assessment of subcontractor applications Preparation of monthly cost reports, CVRs and project forecasts Management of variations, change control and contractual notices Monitoring project costs, value and cash flow against agreed budgets Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and the wider commercial team Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities Client liaison and agreement of valuations and variations Management and negotiation of subcontractor final accounts Assisting with the preparation and agreement of the project final account Ensuring projects are commercially controlled in accordance with company procedures Candidate Requirements

Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, minimum 5 years experience. Strong new-build construction experience Experience working on commercial projects or other major building projects Good knowledge of construction contracts and subcontract procurement Strong understanding of cost reporting, forecasting and CVRs Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills Able to manage subcontract packages with minimal supervision Excellent communication and organisational skills Relevant Quantity Surveying or construction qualification preferred The Opportunity
