Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Quality Technician to join a leading manufacturing organisation.

This role is responsible for supporting product quality, process development and continuous improvement activities through assembly, inspection, testing, data analysis and documentation. Working closely with Engineers and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble, inspect and test precision electronic and micro-components in line with manufacturing standards. Carry out incoming material inspections and commission testing of electronic and mechanical components. Perform functional testing on products and sub-assemblies to verify quality and performance. Diagnose and troubleshoot faults with products, equipment and manufacturing processes. Support Engineers with the development, build and testing of prototypes, new products and manufacturing processes. Analyse manufacturing and inspection data to determine pass, fail or rework decisions as part of non-conformance investigations. Calibrate and adjust measuring equipment including callipers, micrometres and gauges to ensure production quality. Inspect prototype parts and assemblies to company, supplier and customer specifications. Prepare and maintain manufacturing documentation, including standard work instructions, quality reports, productivity reports and batch records. Maintain accurate production logs, inspection records and tracking documentation. Operate test equipment in accordance with manufacturing procedures and standard work instructions. Participate in production planning and scheduling activities to ensure on-time delivery. Promote continuous improvement by contributing ideas to improve quality, efficiency and manufacturing yield. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Health & Safety, environmental and company policies. Maintain work areas to agreed 5S standards. The ideal candidate would have:

Experience working within a manufacturing, production or quality environment. Experience assembling, inspecting or testing precision mechanical or electronic components. An understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles. Experience using precision measuring equipment such as callipers, micrometres and gauges. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and/or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Experience creating or maintaining manufacturing documentation and work instructions. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to interpret inspection and test data. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with Engineers and cross-functional teams.
