Description

We are working with a well–established and growing advanced manufacturing business within the aerospace sector, seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join its leadership team.

This is a key appointment, responsible for driving quality excellence, maintaining compliance to aerospace standards, and leading a dedicated quality team within a fast–paced precision engineering environment.

As Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of the Quality Management System and ongoing compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements. You will lead quality activities across the full product lifecycle, from new product introduction through to production and supplier management.

You will also act as a key interface between the business, customers, and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS)Manage and develop a team of Quality EngineersSupport New Product Introduction (NPI) by developing inspection plans, control plans, and FAIRs (AS9102)Guide and support APQP and PPAP processesApprove supplier PPAP submissions and monitor supplier performanceConduct supplier audits and drive supplier quality improvementLead root cause analysis (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone) and implement corrective/preventive actionsReview engineering drawings and specifications for manufacturability and riskEnsure full traceability and configuration control of aerospace componentsMonitor and report KPIs such as scrap, rework, and yieldSupport internal and external audits and management review processesEssential Experience

Strong background in aerospace manufacturing quality assuranceIn–depth knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace quality standardsExperience with inspection tools and techniques (CMM, gauges, etc.)Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specificationsDemonstrated experience in root cause analysis and problem solvingSupplier quality and audit experienceDesirable

Knowledge of NADCAP processesExperience working with major aerospace OEM requirementsStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsA continuous improvement mindset with strong analytical abilityLeadership and mentoring experienceWhat's on Offer
