Description

We are currently recruiting for a Production Control Manager to join a growing manufacturing business where you can influence production performance and drive operational efficiency.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take ownership of production planning, scheduling, material readiness and capacity planning, ensuring manufacturing operations run efficiently and customer delivery targets are consistently achieved.

This is a key leadership role, working closely with Sales, Procurement, Design & shop floor teams to ensure resources, materials and manufacturing capacity are aligned with business demand.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS), balancing customer demand with manufacturing capacityMaintain and optimize schedules in line with shop floor feedback, process improvements and changing customer requirementsManage ERP/MRP systems to ensure materials are available in line with requirementsMonitor material availability, ensuring raw materials and purchased components arrive on timeAnalyse production capacity across laser cutting, CNC machining, welding, paint and assembly operationsCollaborate with the Design team to improve Bills of Materials, manufacturing data and scheduling accuracyAnalyse product costings, identify discrepancies and work with Finance and Sales to improve costing accuracyDrive continuous improvement initiatives across planning, scheduling and manufacturing processes

About You

Previous experience within Production Planning, Control or Manufacturing Planning role10+ years' experience within a engineering environmentPrevious leadership or management experience would be highly advantageousStrong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skillsStrong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple projectsExcellent communication skills with the ability to work across various departments of the businessCalm, analytical and solutions-focused under pressure

Desirable Experience

Experience within sheet metal, fabrication, CNC machining or heavy engineeringKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologiesUnderstanding of automated processes such as robotic welding or CNC production
