Planning Officer

Description

Our client the East Midlands Combined County Authority, is currently seeking a Planning Officer to join their team on a permanent basis within the Highways sector. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with experience in development management and planning, keen to contribute to the shaping and delivery of spatial development strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support the delivery of the Spatial Development Strategy (SDS)Provide technical planning input across policy, evidence, and plan–makingPrepare reports, briefings, and evidence to support senior decision–makingSupport and manage consultants, evidence studies, and commissioned workEngage with stakeholders and support public consultationsManage multiple workstreams, ensuring quality delivery to deadlines

Job Requirements:

Experience in development management within the planning disciplineStrong understanding of spatial development strategyProficiency in preparing technical planning reports and briefingsAbility to manage and support consultants and evidence studiesExcellent stakeholder engagement skills and experience with public consultationsStrong organisational skills to manage multiple workstreams effectivelyRelevant degree or equivalent qualification in planning or a related field
