Description

We're looking for a Paint Prep / Parts Preparation Technician to prepare manufactured parts and components for the painting and finishing process. You'll ensure parts are cleaned, inspected, masked, sanded and correctly staged so they meet quality standards and are ready for efficient painting.

Location: Ruislip, London

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am-3:18pm

Pay rate: 13.60 per hour

Key Responsibilities for Paint Prepper:

Prepare metal and manufactured parts for painting, coating, or finishingClean, degrease, sand, grind, scuff and prepare surfaces as requiredRemove dirt, oil, grease, rust, scale, burrs and other contaminantsMask and plug areas that must not receive paint/coatingInspect parts for defects, surface imperfections and damage prior to paintingCarry out minor surface repairs/corrections as neededFollow work instructions, drawings, specifications and production schedulesStage and identify parts for the paint departmentLoad/unload, rack, hang or position parts for processingOperate hand tools, power tools, sanders, grinders and prep equipment safelyComplete quality checks before parts move to the next operationMaintain a clean, organised work area and meet housekeeping standardsCommunicate any issues with parts, equipment or requirements to supervisors/quality

Skills & Requirements for Paint Prepper:

Manufacturing/metal preparation/painting/finishing experience preferredAble to read and follow basic work instructions and production drawingsConfident using hand and power toolsGood attention to detail and able to spot surface defectsWorks well independently and as part of a teamReliable, punctual and safety-consciousComfortable with repetitive physical tasks in a manufacturing environmentWilling to learn company-specific processes and equipment

Work Environment:

Workshop/manufacturing production settingStanding for long periods and handling metal partsExposure to adhesives, polishing compounds and light machineryPPE such as gloves, eye protection and masks required depending on tasks
