Description

A multiskilled engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of production machinery and site services within a food manufacturing environment. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting production targets.

Description

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production and packaging equipment Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform effective fault diagnosis and repair Ensure all machinery operates in line with food safety and hygiene standards (e.g., HACCP) Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete all documentation Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize performance Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations at all times Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment Monitor and maintain utilities (e.g., steam, refrigeration, compressed air systems) Identify root causes of recurring faults and implement corrective actions 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 2 x 5:00am to 17.00pm then 2 x 17:00pm to 05:00am, 4 days off

Profile

Proven experience as a maintenance or shift engineer in a food manufacturing or FMCG environmentStrong electrical and/or mechanical engineering skillsExperience with PLC fault finding (desirable)Knowledge of food safety standards and regulationsAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environmentRelevant engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent) Electrical certification (e.g., 18th Edition) - desirableJob Offer
