Location: Project Construction Site, Bridgwater

Hybrid working: 3-4 days per week office attendance PLUS balance of week working remotely/from home

Status: CONTRACT INSIDE IR35 Mon-Fri

Duration: Approved until end December 2027 (renewable)

Morson Edge are working on behalf of a major player in the Energy Sector who have a contract requirement for a Mechanical Project Manager to join their established Project team. All work is associated with the construction of a major Nuclear New Build infrastructure Project in North Somerset. Competitive all-in daily rate for the right candidate.

Typical Activities

The Mechanical Project Manager provides leadership and coordination across piping, valves, mechanical supports and associated mechanical works, working closely with Construction, Quality, Planning and Commercial teams, while liaising with the respective Engineering and Procurement teams to ensure technical and material requirements support the construction programme.Responsible for the safe and effective site delivery of complex mechanical scopes within the B1 Area, from construction readiness through installation, testing, and handover.Key responsibilities include coordinating site priorities and installation sequencing managing several contractors and delivery teams monitoring material and engineering readiness identifying and resolving construction constraints managing interfaces between disciplines and work areas and driving works through installation, testing, and system completion.The role maintains strong oversight of programme performance, productivity, risk, and change, using project data to identify emerging issues, remove blockers and ensure resources are focused on priority activities.The Mechanical Project Manager acts as a key interface between the Client, site delivery teams, and supply chain to maintain clear accountability and support timely decision-making. Typically degree qualified in a Mechanical/Engineering disciplineSignificant experience of executing Project Management across major schemes/projects within regulated environs - Nuclear Sector highly advantageous APM certified (or equivalent)Large scale mechanical construction/installation experienceMaster communicator with the ability to generate highly effective working relationshipsCollaborative leadership styleHSE champion
