The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to support the delivery of a major water and wastewater infrastructure project in the North West.

The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating and overseeing mechanical installation activities, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, engineering drawings, quality standards and health and safety requirements.

Working closely with the wider project delivery team, including design, construction and commissioning personnel, you will help drive mechanical works from detailed design and installation through to testing, commissioning and final handover.

Key responsibilities will include:

Coordinating and monitoring mechanical installation activities. Ensuring mechanical works are delivered in line with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements. Reviewing engineering information and resolving technical queries. Preparing and maintaining project documentation, including RAMS, inspection records and health and safety documentation. Monitoring progress, quality and compliance of mechanical works. Coordinating interfaces with civil, structural and electrical engineering disciplines. Working collaboratively with construction, design and commissioning teams to support successful project delivery. Assisting with commissioning, testing and handover activities. Maintaining accurate records of project progress, completed works and outstanding actions. Candidate Requirements

Minimum 5 years' relevant engineering experience. Previous experience within the water and wastewater sector. Strong mechanical engineering background. Good understanding of MEICA installations and associated construction activities. Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline. Experience coordinating mechanical works and managing interfaces with other engineering disciplines. Valid CSCS card. Right to work in the UK. Previous involvement in major water infrastructure or regulated utility programmes (desirable). Experience supporting commissioning, testing and handover activities (desirable). Familiarity with the requirements of large-scale water and wastewater capital delivery programmes (desirable). Full UK driving licence (desirable). Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (desirable).

The Ideal Candidate

You will be a proactive and organised Mechanical Project Engineer with a solid understanding of mechanical engineering within the water industry.

You should be confident coordinating contractors and engineering teams, managing technical interfaces and ensuring mechanical installation works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

Strong communication skills, a practical approach to problem-solving and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle are essential.

Candidates with less than 5 years experience can still be considered, however the salary may be amended in kind.
