Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Nights) West Midlands 35,000 + Shift Allowance + Overtime

Monday to Thursday 5:00pm Start

40 Hours Per Week

58 Per Week Night Shift Allowance

Overtime: 20/hour Sundays: 33.65/hour

The Opportunity

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established heavy engineering manufacturer operating within the casting and engineering sector.

As part of continued investment and growth, the company is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join its dedicated night shift maintenance team.

This position offers excellent stability, strong overtime opportunities and the chance to play a key role in maintaining critical manufacturing equipment across the site.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activitiesDiagnose and repair faults on hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systemsMaintain gearboxes, bearings, cylinders, valves, pumps and rotating equipmentPerform welding, cutting, grinding and general fabrication workSupport TPM and continuous improvement initiativesMinimise equipment downtime and improve plant performanceSupport reliability and operational improvement projects

What We're Looking For

Candidates will ideally come from foundry, steel, heavy engineering, quarrying, aggregates, recycling, process manufacturing or similar industrial sectors.

You'll ideally have experience with:

Hydraulic systemsPneumatic systemsBearings and rotating equipmentGearboxes and mechanical drivesPumps and conveyorsWelding and fabrication work

You'll also possess:

Strong fault-finding skillsExperience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenanceBasic electrical fault-finding abilityA proactive approach to health and safetyExcellent problem-solving skills

Foundry experience is advantageous but not essential.

Please note: This role is based within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment involving heat, dust, noise and large-scale machinery.
