Ipswich Panama Shift (Days & Nights) Food Manufacturing
The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to join a well-established food manufacturing site in Ipswich. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced production environment, supporting site performance and reliability through proactive and reactive maintenance.
Working on a Panama shift pattern (rotating days and nights), you will play a key role in ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining high engineering standards across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across production machineryDiagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently to minimise downtimeSupport electrical fault finding where required (basic level)Work on a variety of food processing and packaging equipmentEnsure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and hygiene standardsIdentify and implement continuous improvement initiativesAccurately complete all maintenance documentation and reportsAbout You
Apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent)Strong mechanical engineering background with some electrical knowledgeExperience working in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment (highly desirable)Ability to work independently and as part of a teamFlexible approach to work and comfortable working day and night shiftsStrong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
