Responsibilities and duties of the Field Service Technician role

Reporting to the Field Service Manager you will:

Carry out installation, commissioning, maintenance, and servicing of biogas upgrading plants, gas transport systems, and anaerobic digestion facilities.Perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Diagnose and troubleshoot faults using specialist diagnostic equipment and technical schematics.Support commissioning activities, system upgrades, and refurbishment projects across customer sites.Provide on-site and remote technical support to operators and clients during breakdowns and maintenance activities.Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency breakdown situations when required.Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, service reports, and spare parts records using internal service management systems.Ensure compliance with all QHSE procedures, risk assessments, and site safety regulations.Coordinate tools, consumables, service vehicles, and spare parts to ensure operational readiness.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

A higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related discipline.At least 5 years of experience within industrial maintenance, servicing, or field service environments.Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, and hydraulic systems.Experience using diagnostic and maintenance tools within industrial environments.Previous experience within biogas, anaerobic digestion, renewable energy, or process industries would be advantageous.Strong IT skills and experience using CMMS or field service management software.Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel frequently to customer sites.
