Maintenance Supervisor

A leading manufacturing organisation is seeking a capable and driven Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day activities of its maintenance team. This role is suited to an experienced Maintenance Engineer or Team Leader looking to step into a leadership position, with responsibility for ensuring equipment reliability, safety compliance, and continuous improvement across operations.

The Role

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the safe, effective supervision of maintenance activities, supporting production by maintaining high equipment uptime and ensuring compliance with industry and company standards. The role requires strong leadership, technical understanding, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Key responsibilities include:

Supervising and supporting Maintenance Engineers and Team Leaders on shiftAllocating work effectively to meet both production and maintenance prioritiesCoaching, mentoring, and developing team members to improve performance and capabilityLeading by example to promote high standards of behaviour, safety, and workmanshipSupporting disciplinary processes in line with company procedures alongside HRManaging budgets across maintenance activities and supporting Capex planning for new equipmentUnderstanding and monitoring cycle time and TAKT time to support production efficiencyDriving performance against key KPIs such as machine availability, OLE, MTBF, and MTTREnsuring compliance with Health & Safety standards and IATF 16949 requirementsDriving equipment improvements through PLC and LabView systemsSupporting production and other departments with IT and technical expertise where required Candidate Requirements

Proven experience within a maintenance environment (OEM or Tier 1 preferred)Good understanding of Health & Safety regulationsBasic knowledge of IATF 16949 (training can be provided)Strong problem-solving skills with a logical approachExperience in people management or team leadershipAbility to work effectively under pressure and make sound decisionsPC literate, with working knowledge of SAP systemsFlexible approach to working hours, including additional support when required Desirable Experience

Previous experience as a Team Leader, Shift Lead, or acting SupervisorExperience with preventative maintenance systems and breakdown analysisExposure to continuous improvement (CI) tools and methodologiesPLC programming knowledgeABB robot programming experienceFamiliarity with Atlas Copco systems, including drivers and SCA dispensing equipment Personal Attributes
