Description

Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: Daventry

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 6:00am - 2:00pm

Salary: 49,000 per annum

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical bias to join our engineering team at a fast-paced food manufacturing site. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving production and site equipment to ensure maximum uptime, safety, and compliance with food industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production and packaging machineryDiagnose and repair electrical faults on PLC-controlled systems, motors, drives, sensors, and control panelsSupport mechanical maintenance activities when requiredEnsure all work is completed in line with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulationsMinimise downtime by responding promptly and effectively to breakdownsAssist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and efficiencyMaintain accurate maintenance records and documentationSupport installation and commissioning of new equipmentWork closely with production teams to ensure smooth operationsSkills & Experience Required

Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a food or FMCG manufacturing environment (highly desirable)Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skillsExperience with PLCs (fault finding only), inverters, and automated machineryRecognised electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawingsGood understanding of mechanical systems (gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, pneumatics)Knowledge of food safety standards such as BRC, HACCP, or GMPStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independentlyBenefits
