Location: Haverhill (CB9) Job Type: Permanent Hours: 8.30am - 4pm, Monday to Friday (flexibility is required in line with business demand) Salary: 40,000 - 45,000 dependent on experience Job Reference: 36142 Polytec are looking for a Lead Electrical Technician to join our Haverhill based client. The successful candidate will support the assembly and testing of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) battery systems and supervise a small team of Technicians. All work must be carried out in line with strict electrical and safety procedures. Responsibilities - Assemble and test battery systems, including functional, safety, performance and endurance testing - Operate specialised equipment such as welders, cyclers, BMS diagnostic tools, insulation resistance testers, hipot testers, DMMs and data logging systems - Follow HV/LV safety protocols, including lock-out/tag-out procedures - Record and analyse test data, reporting deviations and supporting root-cause investigations - Support engineering teams with manufacturing processes, test planning and validation activities - Maintain calibration and maintenance records for equipment - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and testing Requirements - Hands-on experience as an Electrical Technician including work with high voltage systems - Manufacturing or production experience in an electrical or electronics environment - Strong understanding of HV and LV electrical principles and diagnostics - Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation - Proficiency with electrical test equipment - HV certification or relevant industry training Desirable - Experience testing or validating battery systems or energy storage solutions - Knowledge of safety standards relating to HV battery systems - Experience with battery systems, power electronics or EV components - Electrical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition, or equivalent) - Background in automotive, aerospace, battery manufacturing or other high-tech industries Please contact us as soon as possible for more details or apply below!
