Astute's Renewables team is partnering with an Operations & Maintenance specialist responsible for the management of utility-scale, ground-mounted solar PV assets across the UK and Europe. We are recruiting for a Head of HV / Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to provide technical leadership and oversight of all high-voltage operations, ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient performance of the solar portfolio.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will:

Lead and manage day to day high-voltage (HV) operations across multiple solar farm sites and act as the Authorising Engineer, ensuring safe and compliant HV activities.Provide technical expertise to resolve complex engineering and installation challenges.Oversee and deliver specialist HV services, including commissioning and testing.Develop and expand the organisation's HV operational capability.Supervise, mentor, and train SAPs, APs, and Competent Persons.Manage HV projects across the portfolio, ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery.Authorise and review HV reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.Ensure adherence to company policies, IMS standards, and all Quality, H&S, and Environmental objectives.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

Fully conversant with the UK electrical power distribution industry, including relevant standards, practices, and procedures.AP15-certified High Voltage Senior Authorised Person (up to 132kV).Relevant Health & Safety qualifications (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent).Extensive experience within the UK solar PV industry, ideally across utility-scale assets.Full, clean UK driving licence.
