Fire Engineer

A well–established, design–led engineering consultancy is seeking a Fire Engineer to join their growing team.

The organisation is recognised for delivering technically robust and sustainable solutions across a broad range of sectors within the built environment for Fire Engineers.

This opportunity would suit a proactive Fire Engineer who enjoys a mix of technical design, analysis, and collaboration within multidisciplinary project teams.

The Fire Engineer's Role

The Fire Engineer will contribute to the delivery of fire safety strategies and engineering solutions across a varied project portfolio, ranging from complex large–scale developments to specialist design commissions.

Key responsibilities include:

Assisting in the development of fire strategy designs across multiple sectorsPreparing detailed fire strategy reports using both prescriptive and performance–based approachesSupporting fire engineering calculations, modelling, and analysisProducing clear and concise technical documentation outlining design methodologies and outcomesAttending site visits, project meetings, and design workshopsCoordinating with architects, contractors, and consultants to achieve compliant design solutionsManaging individual tasks to meet project deadlines and quality standardsMaintaining awareness of current UK fire safety regulations, standards, and emerging practicesContributing to team knowledge sharing and ongoing professional developmentThe Fire Engineer

The successful Fire Engineer will hold a degree in Fire Engineering or a related discipline and demonstrate a strong technical foundation within fire safety design.

They will have:

A solid understanding of UK fire safety legislation and guidanceExperience or exposure to fire modelling and analytical toolsStrong written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teamsGood organisational and problem–solving abilitiesDesirable:

Experience within a consultancy or similar environmentProgress towards Chartered status or membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. IFE or SFPE)Familiarity with technical software used within fire engineeringIn Return?
