Field Service Engineer

Location: UK-based with frequent UK and international travel

Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled Field Service Engineer to join a leading provider of marine and industrial engine services. This role involves delivering expert maintenance, troubleshooting, and overhaul services for a wide range of engines used in marine and offshore applications. You will work on-site at ports, shipyards, and offshore facilities both in the UK and worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform diagnostics, repairs, and complete overhauls on 4-stroke and 2-stroke marine diesel engines.Commission engines and conduct performance/load testing following maintenance or installation.Provide technical support and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.Prepare accurate service reports and maintain clear communication with clients and internal teams.Travel extensively within the UK and internationally to meet client requirements.Requirements:

Proven experience in marine engine maintenance and repair.Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and components (e.g., Caterpillar, Wartsila, MAN, Cummins, Daihatsu, Niigata).Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.Valid UK driving license and willingness to work offshore when required.Relevant certifications such as BOSIET (preferred).Desirable Skills:

Experience with commissioning, sea trials, and major component replacements (crankshaft, cylinder heads, pistons).Familiarity with safety protocols and documentation standards.
