Description
Job Title: Diesel Fitter/Technician (Field Based)
Location: Haymarket but will require travel
Salary: GBP46k per annum inc call-out pay
Hours: Monday to Friday Days only
The Opportunity:
Are you a skilled Diesel Mechanic with a passion for engines and hands-on maintenance? On behalf of our client, Ford & Stanley Talentwise we are hiring experienced professionals to support the servicing, maintenance, and overhaul of mission-critical diesel engines used across the rail, bus, and HGV sectors .
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-performance diesel power units, ensuring reliability and safety in demanding transport environments.
Key responsibilities:
Perform routine and reactive maintenance on a wide range of diesel enginesConduct full engine overhauls, including strip-down, rebuild, and testingDiagnose faults using mechanical and diagnostic toolsEnsure engines meet performance and safety standardsMaintain accurate service records and documentation Candidate Essentials:
Level 3 qualified in relevant industryProven experience as a mechanically biased technicianStrong working knowledge of diesel engine systems, components, and diagnosticsComfortable with hands-on fault finding, repair, and testingBackground in rail, ex-forces, plant, or HGV sectors is highly desirableHolds a full UK Driver s License Qualifications:
Level 3 qualified in relevant industry
Desirable:
Diesel engine experience on Plant Machinery, HGV/PSVs/Armoured Vehicles
