Description

Job Title: Engineering Project Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Eastleigh (Hybrid)

Duration: 12 months

Rate: Negotiable on experience

Inside IR35 via Umbrella

Role Overview:

A leader in Health Usage and Monitoring Systems (HUMS) for military and commercial aircrafts seeks an Engineering Project Manager to lead teams delivering customer-funded software application modifications. This role ensures projects meet all scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets at an established aerospace site.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage software engineering/technology projects

Champion safety and high-quality delivery

Act as primary customer contact for resource allocation and project integration

Control project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring milestones and customer requirements are met

Manage change, risk, and project performance using metrics and earned value techniques

Effectively communicate with all levels and drive team accountability

Motivate and manage project teams

Requirements:

Experience in software development project management (ideally within aerospace, automotive, nuclear, or other regulated sectors)

Skilled in customer scope/change management and application software development

Excellent communication and leadership skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Microsoft Project)

Understanding of project lifecycle management

Desirable:

Knowledge of Aerospace & Military certification standards (DAOS, RTCA DO178)

Experience using IBM ALM tool suite

Experience working with military license requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree

Proven project management experience in a regulated or controlled industry (Aerospace, Energy, Chemical, Defense)
