Job Title: CAD Technician

Location: York

Salary: 29,000 - 35,000

My client is looking for someone to undertake and produce designs, layout drawings, and detailed engineering drawings for projects as requested, ensuring all work is completed in a professional, accurate, and timely manner.

Experience:

Previous experience within the Sheet Metal IndustryExperience of welding, fabrication, and manufactured assembliesStrong academic background in Mathematics, English and ScienceExcellent communication and customer-facing skillsExperience producing general arrangement (GA) / layout drawings for manufacturing, installation and customer approvalTechnical Requirements:

City & Guilds or equivalent Certification in AutoCADLayout and GA drawing productionCompetence in producing: 2D layout drawingsExploded views, BOMs, and part librariesProficient use of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and OutlookMain Tasks:

Produce layout drawings (GA drawings) to communicate design intent, spatial planning, installation requirements, and customer approval detailsCoordination between Designer, Production, and Suppliers to ensure timely issuing of all drawing typesVisit customer sites as required to gather dimensional data and project requirementsImplement new design concepts and ensure layout drawings accurately reflect feasibility and manufacturabilityProactively chase drawing approvals and resolve queries from clients and production teamsProduce all drawings in line with project expectations, technical standards, and deadlinesBenefits:
