BEMS Trainee Controls Engineer / Authorised Person (AP)

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and technically minded BEMS Trainee Controls Engineer / Authorised Person (AP) to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to begin a career in Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) and develop hands-on experience with advanced control technologies, starting with Schneider Electric systems.

In this role, you will receive a blend of on-the-job training and formal technical courses designed to build your competence in BEMS controls. Much of your initial training will be based on our UCL project, where you will gain valuable experience working as an AP on-site. This position offers strong foundations for future career progression in system installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

BEMS System Training

Participate in comprehensive online and in-person training to gain proficiency in Schneider Electric BEMS control systems, with opportunities to expand to additional platforms.

On-Site Experience (UCL Project)

Act as the AP on-site for the UCL project, supporting installation and commissioning activities.

Ensure compliance with safety procedures and operational standards while working with BEMS systems.

Technical Support

Assist the engineering team with system troubleshooting, configuration, and performance adjustments.

Provide hands-on support during project delivery and maintenance activities.

Collaboration

Work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to support seamless project execution.

Training Course Participation

Attend relevant manufacturer-led training courses, which may involve occasional travel and overnight stays.

All associated travel, accommodation, and course costs will be fully covered by the company.

Salary & Benefits

Base Salary: 42,000 per annum

Travel Costs: Full reimbursement for travel associated with training and on-site duties

Training & Development:

Access to ongoing technical training, including online modules and in-person manufacturer courses

All course fees, travel, and accommodation fully funded by the company

Performance & Career Progression

Performance Reviews

An initial performance review will be conducted after 3 months, with the potential for a salary increase based on demonstrated progress.

Subsequent reviews will occur annually on your start-date anniversary or earlier if required.
