An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a successful and growing residential developer delivering high-quality new build housing schemes across the North West.

This role is ideal for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to further develop their career within a supportive commercial team, gaining exposure to all aspects of the surveying function while working on exciting residential developments.

The Role

Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will assist with the commercial management of multiple new build housing developments from inception through to completion.

Key responsibilities will include:

Assisting with cost reporting and budget managementSupporting subcontractor procurement and tender analysisProcessing subcontractor payments and valuationsAssisting with variations and change controlMonitoring project costs and forecasting expenditurePreparing reports and commercial documentationSupporting the agreement of final accountsWorking closely with site, technical and commercial teams

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

Experience working within a Quantity Surveying or Assistant Quantity Surveying roleExposure to the construction industry, ideally within residential developmentStrong numerical and analytical skillsGood understanding of construction processes and commercial principlesExcellent communication and organisational skillsProficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applicationsFull UK driving licence

Desirable Experience

Experience working for a housebuilder, main contractor or residential developerExposure to new build housing projectsHNC, HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying or a construction-related disciplineAmbition to progress towards a Quantity Surveyor position
