Carmichael UK is working with a leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor delivering the HS2 project in Birmingham. We are seeking an experienced Agent / Site Agent to take ownership of the delivery of earthworks, drainage, and landscaping packages on this nationally significant infrastructure scheme.

The Role As Agent, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme, and in line with quality requirements. This role will suit a strong leader who can drive works forward, manage multiple workstreams, and coordinate site teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of earthworks, drainage, and landscaping works across your section

Manage bulk earthworks, cut & fill, formation, and associated civils activities

Oversee drainage works including deep drainage, culverts, and attenuation systems

Coordinate hard and soft landscaping works and manage interfaces with adjacent packages

Manage and supervise Sub Agents, Site Engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors

Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, RAMS, and programme

Monitor progress, resolve technical and delivery issues, and report to senior management

Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance

About You Proven experience as an Agent / Site Agent on major civil or infrastructure projects

Strong background in earthworks and drainage; landscaping experience advantageous

Experience working for a Tier 1 or major civil engineering contractor

Confident managing site teams and subcontractors and driving delivery on site

SMSTS and CSCS (essential)

Organised, proactive, and solutions-focused approach
