Description

ESA/IPC Operator

Location: Havant

Salary: £24,500 - £30,000 per annum DOE

Hours: Mon - Thurs - 7:15am-4pm Fri - 8am-12:15pm

A specialist organisation within the technology sector is seeking an experienced ESA/IPC Operator to join its expanding flight assembly team. With decades of industry heritage and a strong international presence, the company is continuing to grow and advance its technical capabilities. They are now looking for skilled technicians to support the build of high‑quality flight hardware.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling flight hardware to recognised IPC and ESA standards. This role involves hands‑on technical tasks within a cleanroom environment, following strict processes and engineering documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble flight hardware in line with IPC and ESA requirements

Conduct PCA assembly, module builds, and harness work

Work accurately from build instructions, technical drawings, and specifications

Assemble cable assemblies, test jigs, and test boxes

Maintain compliance with health and safety standards, particularly within cleanroom conditions

Communicate effectively with colleagues and support team objectives

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Good knowledge of soldering and wiring practices

A up to date IPC-610 certification

Proven practical experience in soldering under a microscope

Experience working in electronic components

Cleanroom experience beneficial

Strong hands‑on capability and attention to detail

Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently

Strong team ethic and willingness to support others

Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities

Ability to remain calm and apply sound judgement under pressure

Demonstrates accountability, strong delivery focus, and effective self‑management

Alignment with company values and professional behaviours

Working Hours

37.25 hours per week

Worked over 4.5 days
