Description

Assembly Technician

Our client is a market leader in the development and supply of advanced POS Products and industrial weigh labelling equipment into the worlds food processing industries and major retailers.

They are a solutions provider to the major retail industry for Point-of-Sale products.

They have been at the forefront of POS & weigh price labelling technology for many years. Their products are used by many of the world’s leading global food processing and distribution companies. This is an exciting role where they are looking to develop this individual further and progress their career.

Reporting to their Production Manager the Assembly Technician will be responsible for the undertaking of assembly work from components parts of weigh/price/label equipment within a factory environment.

The role

The Assembly Technician will perform the major functions listed below. Training will be provided.

* Build assemblies from drawings using component parts by undertaking the following: -

* Soldering

* Electronic and mechanical assembly

* Loading software

* Commissioning of machines prior to QC

* Fault finding where necessary

* PAT testing of component parts and fully assembled products.

* Work on own initiative and as part of a team whilst working to deadlines.

* Good communication and able be help keep team morale high.

* Using hand tools provided in a safe manner.

* Complete all documents required by the company policies and procedures.

* Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as may be reasonably expected of the role and as necessary in order to achieve the objectives of the Production team and the business goals.

* Working within Health & Safety procedures and Risk Assessment guidelines at all times.

Skills & Experience

Essential

* Experience of soldering within the last two years

* Accurate and high level of attention to detail

* Ability to follow technical work instructions and interpret technical drawings. Experience of using a Windows based PC

* At least three-year mechanical assembly experience

* Experience working with and assembling electrical equipment in the last two years.

* Comfortable with taking instruction and following processes.

* Able to work independently, under pressure and with changing demands.

* Flexibility of approach and responsive to challenges

Desirable

* Experience in another manufacturing company within the last 3 years.

* Experience of Word and Excel would be advantageous.

* Ambitious outlook to career development

* Willing to learn new skills and challenges.
