Panel Wirer – Electrical Control Panels

Salary: £18-£20 per hour

Shifts: Permanent Day Shift - Monday to Friday

Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne

A well-established and expanding manufacturer within the electrical industry is seeking experienced Panel Wirers to join their production team in Newcastle upon Tyne. With ongoing growth in both the street lighting sector and the electric vehicle charging market, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to a company at the forefront of innovative electrical solutions.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Assembling and wiring electrical control panels from schematic drawings.

Fitting, wiring, and building power distribution units.

Using hand and power tools effectively to complete assemblies.

Carrying out elements of panel testing as required.

Undertaking fault finding and repairs when necessary.

Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

Strong experience working with single and three-phase systems (essential).

Control panel wiring experience (essential).

Ability to read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics and drawings.

Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Effective time management and multitasking skills.

Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

A proactive attitude with excellent reliability and attendance.

Highly desirable qualifications and experience include:

Experience with busbar assemblies.

Previous electrical testing experience.

18th Edition certification.

Completion of a recognised electrical apprenticeship.

The Offer

Competitive hourly rate of £18–£20, depending on experience.

Permanent day shift role:

Monday–Thursday: 8:30am–5:00pm

Friday: 8:30am–1:30pm

Overtime rates:

Monday–Friday (7:00–8:30am): x1.33

Saturday morning: x1.5
